強納森:「我記得有一季洪水氾濫。我還不到12歲, 我爸拿出了鏟子, 我們通宵搶救。
我們幹活到我體力不支, 但總算堵住了洪水, 我們救了農場。你祖母為我烤了蛋糕, 說我是英雄。
那天稍晚我們發現洪水是阻擋了, 但轉往上流。蘭家的農場全沖走了。
我在吃英雄蛋糕時, 他們的馬淹死, 我曾在夢中聽到他們哀嚎...」

克拉克:「那些噩夢有停止過嗎?」

強納森:「有。在我遇到你媽時, 她讓我相信這世上還有良善。她是我的一切。
我很想念你, 孩子。」

克拉克:「我亦想念你, 爸爸。」

Jonathan: "I remember one season the water come bad. I couldn't have been 12. 
Dad had out the shovels and we went at it all night. We worked till, I think, I fainted. 
But we managed to stop the water. We saved the farm. Your grandma baked me a cake. Said I was a hero.
Later that day we found out we blocked the water all right. We sent it upstram. The whole Lang farm washed away. While I ate my haro cake, their hores were drowning.
I used to hear them wailing in my sleep..."

Clark : "Did the nightmares ever stop?"

Jonathan: "Yeah. When I met your mother.She give me faith that there's good in this world. She was my world. 
I miss you son."

Clark "I miss you too, Dad."
